Hello!
First off congratulations
Chad and Leanne for getting married! And congratulations Aub and Chance for
getting engaged! That's way sweet, and I'm super happy for you all! Love you
guys:)
I forgot to mention something last
week that happened! So it turns out that my companions Grandma lives here in
Tromsø! His parents were converts, and so his Grandma is one of our
investigators! And we went over and ate dinner with her last Tuesday and taught
her a little bit about the Plan of Salvation! So that was kind of a funny
situation to be eating dinner with my companions Grandma. But it gets even
better! The next day (Wednesday) we had a zone conference meeting, which was
actually held in Bodø, where my companion is from! Elder Henriksen's Dad is
actually the Branch President there. And it turned out that the branch in Bodø
had a family history thing there at the same time as our conference! So I got
to meet my companions family last week hahaha. I think it was really weird for
him, as it would have probably been for anyone. It was really funny haha. In 2
days I got to eat dinner with my companions Grandma, and then fly to his home
town and meet is family!
We didn't have a lot of appointments
this week, but it was still a good week! On Thursday, we decided to go out
knock doors on a place called Håkøy, which is just another little island by
Tromsø. There is only houses around the outside of the island, and there is
only one road that goes around the whole island, so we have been wanting to go
and knock the whole place in one day!
The only thing was that there is no bus
that goes onto the island; we had to walk for a while. We had to bus out and
then walk for about 30 minutes before we got to the bridge to get on the
island.
Anyways, as we walked across the bridge, there was just one guy there fishing!
We just started talking to him, and ended up talking to him for about 30
minutes. He was kind of a bitter guy, but was way funny! He was actually from
Moldova! Chad probably knows him.. haha He had absolutely no faith in God
because of the hard things he had gone through in life. So we kind of just
talked to him about God for a while. At one point while we were talking he reeled
in his line and had a thing of coral with a starfish on it, and he gave to me!
So that was cool:)

He was pretty stubborn but said we could maybe meet again
and talk about God with him. We continued our journey onto the island and
walked on the one road til we got to the end, which took about an hour, then
started knocking on doors on the way back! There were some crazy abandoned
houses and some other sketchy places that we found, but we also got to talk to
some really nice people. We didn't really have any success though.. The guy on
the bridge ended up being our only potential investigator! But we did almost
knock every house on the island! Overall we were probably walking for about 5
hours straight. It hit me how out of shape I am..

Another cool moment happened
yesterday! We talked to a guy from Ghana named Nicholas, on the street like, last
week, and invited him to come to church. He was a way chill African, probably in
his upper 20's and said he would come. He showed up yesterday for sacrament
meeting, and we taught him the restoration after! The best part was that AJ,
the member we have been working with, is also from Ghana, and came to church
too! So we had him join us while we taught Nicholas, and it was an awesome
lesson, and Nicholas said he would read and pray about the Book of Mormon. And
AJ was a big help. So that was a blessing!
If all goes according to plan, we
should have a lot of lessons this week! The work is really starting to pick up
here. There is a senior couple that is coming here in April that is going to
help a ton, and we found out that the Elder in the senior couple is actually
going to be the new branch president!
I
love being a missionary, and I love the gospel! I am more and more grateful for
it every day. It has blessed my life so much. The church is true!!!!
Elder Nilsson
Elder Henriksen made whale a few
days ago.. It really wasn't that enjoyable. He thought so though!
